So I guess Dean Koontz ok’d an Odd Thomas movie at Comic-con. That’s sweet, I love Odd Thomas, it’s probably my favorite thriller and Koontz novel. Really, as opposed to reading movie scripts, I hope the guy would just finish his outstanding Frankenstein trilogy, which has been on hold since pre-Katrina (the series is held in New Orleans, so after her wake, it kind of just died).
Still, an Odd Thomas movie is something I’ve always really, really wanted to see. I considered writing a script myself way back when, before I realized I couldn’t write and didn’t know how to write a script. I just hope they cast the part right, because it’d be so easy to mess up Odd. He’s such a great, unique character that the perfect actor has to do it, and do it right. Same with his girlfriend; Stormy was a hell of a lady, but without the right actress, it’ll completely ruin the book.
Yeah, it’s one of those fanboy book nerd things, I know.
Rock on, anyway. I’m stoked.
